This low calorie margarita recipe has great flavor and since its non-alcoholic, it’s a refreshing option for the kids or guests that prefer non-alcoholic drinks. If you like, it can easily be made into a traditional margarita by adding a shot of your favorite tequila.

Salt Lime Rimming Mixture

4 – 6 margarita glasses
2 tablespoons of course salt
1 large lime zested
Blend the salt and lime zest together, place on small plate. Cut the zested lime into wedges and use one of the wedges to rub the rim of the glass. Rotate the wet rim in the salt and lime mixture, set aside.

Margarita

Makes 4-6 drinks depending on glass size
6 oz can of frozen limeade
¾ cup fresh orange juice (2 large navel oranges will yield this amount)
2/3 cup fresh grapefruit juice (1 large grapefruit will yield this amount)
Ice Cubes – a couple of trays
Lime slices for garnish

In a blender, combine limeade, orange juice, and grapefruit juice. Blend on high to puree any of the remaining pulp. While the blender is running, add ice cubes, a few at a time and cover quickly to avoid splashing. Continue blending until you get the desired consistency. For a thicker margarita, add more ice cubes. For a thinner margarita, add less ice cubes.

Pour into your rimmed glasses and garnish with a slice of lime.
*Optional – serve with a shot of your favorite tequila and your guests can pour it over their drink
