Today, we’re bringing you our healthier twist on the classic sports drink. While store-bought sports drinks like Gatorade are convenient, they often contain artificial flavors, colors, and excess sugar.
Our homemade version offers the same hydration and electrolyte benefits but with natural, wholesome ingredients tailored to your preferences.
BFY Homemade Gatorade
Ingredients
- 4 cups coconut water
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- ¼ tsp salt (preferably Himalayan pink salt or sea salt for added minerals)
- ¼ cup freshly squeezed citrus juice (choose one or mix: lemon, lime, orange, or grapefruit)
- 1-2 Cucumber slices
- ½ tsp Grated ginger
Instructions
- In a large pitcher or mixing bowl, combine the water, salt, and honey (or maple syrup). Stir until the salt and sweetener are fully dissolved.
- Pour in the freshly squeezed citrus juice. Mix well to combine.
- Add any optional ingredients, like mint leaves, cucumber slices, or grated ginger, for additional flavor and health benefits.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to cool or serve over ice.
