Ingredients

Rosemary Syrup
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, cut in 4 inch pieces
For the cocktail
  • 1-1/2 oz. vodka
  • 3/4 oz. Poire Williams (clear pear brandy)
  • 1/2 pear

Instructions

Rosemary syrup
  • Bring sugar and water to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring to dissolve sugar.
  • Add the rosemary sprigs, reduce heat, and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Let the mixture cool completely, and pull out the rosemary for garnish.
For the cocktail
  • Mix one tablespoon of rosemary syrup, vodka, and Poire Williams in a shaker with ice.
  • Strain into a martini glass.
  • To garnish: remove the core from half a pair, cut it in half, and slice a razor-thin sliver from the quarter of the pear.
  • Lay the pear sliver across the cocktail and slide in a small stalk of rosemary.
