In a small skillet, add the extra virgin olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté for a minute. Add the halved grape tomatoes, lower the heat if needed, and cook tomatoes until soft. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a mini food processor, add the cottage cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cayenne pepper (if using), and lemon juice.
Blend for about 1 minute or until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Transfer the cheese mixture to a small serving plate or bowl. Use a spatula to smooth the top of the cheese mixture.
Spoon the cooked tomato and onion mixture on top of the smoothed cheese. Use the reserved oil in the skillet to drizzle over the cooked tomatoes and onions.
Top with chopped fresh dill.
Serve with slices of pepper, cucumber slices, or your favorite cracker or crostini.
