In a bowl, whisk together the tamari or soy sauce, honey, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, a dash of Kosher salt, and a couple of turns of fresh cracked black pepper.
Optional: Reserve ¼ cup of the marinade and refrigerate. Brush or drizzle the reserved marinade over the meat after it is grilled
Pour the remaining marinade over the beef or chicken and let marinate for 4-6 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
Dispose of the marinade that was in the bowl with the meat.
Grill your beef or chicken.
