Sausage on Mashed Potatoes with Whole Grain Mustard

If you have leftover mashed potatoes and a little gravy from Thanksgiving, you are already halfway there to your new favorite recipe that feels indulgent but is incredibly easy to pull together.

Inspired by the cozy charm of Club Cochon in Paris, this dish brings together hearty sausage, creamy potatoes, and a sharp hit of whole grain mustard for the ultimate comfort meal.

It is simple, soulful, and full of flavor! The kind of weeknight dinner that feels special without having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

Sausage on Mashed Potatoes with Whole Grain Mustard

Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 4 links of your favorite sausage, we used Bratwurst
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes, heated through
  • 1/3 cup whole grain mustard
  • 1/3 cup gravy or au jus

Instructions

  • Sauté or roast sausage until firm, browned, and cooked through, turning occasionally.
  • Divide the mashed potatoes among four plates. Place the mashed potatoes in the center of the plate.
  • Place one link of sausage in the middle of the mashed potatoes and about one teaspoon of grain mustard across the center of each link.
  • Spoon a little gravy or au jus around the mashed potatoes and serve with extra grain mustard.
