Keep your hair healthy this winter!
As the weather cools down, hair often loses moisture from the combination of dry air, winter fabrics, and indoor heating. We asked our incredibly talented Director of Style Adir Abergel for some essential tips to keep your hair hydrated, vibrant, and healthy throughout the season!

Switch to a Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner: Winter weather can strip moisture from your hair, leaving it feeling dry and brittle. Combat this by switching to a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Look for products with hydrating and nourishing ingredients to help maintain your length and color all season.
Incorporate Weekly Deep Conditioning Treatments: Ideally, you’re washing your hair only 2-3 times a week. Use this routine to add in a weekly deep conditioning mask, swapping out your regular conditioner for an intensive treatment mask on one of those days. Deep conditioning masks are designed to reverse signs of damage, lock in moisture, and make styling a breeze, whether you’re air-drying or using heat.

Limit Heating Tools: Protecting hair from excessive heat is crucial in colder months. One creative way to avoid heating tools is by embracing wet-look styles! Try a braid crown with your favorite leave-in conditioner or apply a mask and slick your hair back into a chic ballerina bun. These styles give your hair a break from heat, allowing it to stay nourished and healthy.
Get a Trim to Prevent Split Ends: Winter is the perfect time for a trim! Start the season with a visit to your stylist to cut off any split ends and refresh your look. Blunt edges not only look great but also help prevent breakage and keep hair looking healthy.
Add Hair Oils to Your Routine: Keep your hair soft and hydrated by incorporating a hair oil. Apply a few drops to the ends or throughout the lengths for extra moisture. Bonus tip: Keep a travel-sized oil, like the Virtue Healing Oil, in your bag to add moisture throughout the day, especially if you’re wearing hats that can dry out your hair.
Avoid Over-Washing: Frequent washing can strip your hair of natural oils, so try to extend the time between washes. Use a quality dry shampoo at the roots to refresh your style.
Pro tip: Apply dry shampoo at night to absorb oils while you sleep, so you wake up with fresher-looking hair.
Detangle with Care: Winter months can make hair prone to tangling. A good detangling brush is a worthwhile investment—try the Sheila Stotts brush for extensions or a Wet Brush for detangling in the shower. For dry hair, use a boar bristle brush to gently distribute oils from root to tip and keep your scalp healthy.
Enjoy!
