Added bonus? It’s really, really easy to make!

Homemade Onion Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cups onion, small dice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • cup green onion, sliced fine
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp lemon zest
  • ½ tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp crisp shallots

Instructions

  • In a bowl toss oil, salt and diced onions together. Spread onions on a baking sheet tray in a pre-heated oven at 350F. Cook for 15-18 minutes stirring around the onions a few times while cooking. It’s okay to have a bit of color on some of them. When out of the oven, place the onions in a mixing bowl or stand mixer and let cool.
  • Add all other ingredients to the bowl and mix very well with a spoon or paddle attachment on a stand mixer. Place in a serving bowl and let cool in the fridge until ready to serve or serve at room temperature.
