Homemade Onion Dip
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cups onion, small dice
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup cream cheese
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ⅓ cup green onion, sliced fine
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp lemon zest
- ½ tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tbsp crisp shallots
Instructions
- In a bowl toss oil, salt and diced onions together. Spread onions on a baking sheet tray in a pre-heated oven at 350F. Cook for 15-18 minutes stirring around the onions a few times while cooking. It’s okay to have a bit of color on some of them. When out of the oven, place the onions in a mixing bowl or stand mixer and let cool.
- Add all other ingredients to the bowl and mix very well with a spoon or paddle attachment on a stand mixer. Place in a serving bowl and let cool in the fridge until ready to serve or serve at room temperature.
Enjoy!
