We are huge fans of homemade stovetop potpourri, so today, we’re bringing you this easy hack to make your house smell deliciously cozy for fall! This Autumn Stovetop Potpourri is a better-for-you option than candles and air fresheners and smells even better.

It can simmer on your stove all day long and can even be reheated the next day to keep the delicious scent going. Just be sure to add more water every time you reheat it!

Autumn Stovetop Potpourri

  • 1-2 oranges sliced

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 3 sprigs rosemary
  • 1 tbsp cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 whole nutmeg seeds
  • 3 star anise
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a medium-sized sauce pot. Fill the pot with water until it reaches 3/4 the way full. Place the pot on the stove and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer, adding more water as needed. Simmer for 1-4 hours, and then let it cool overnight.
