Cabbage Steaks
Ingredients
- 1 head HEB Organic Green Cabbage
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ tsp Kosher salt
- ¼ tsp HEB Black Pepper Grinder
- ¾ tsp HEB Smoked Paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika in a small bowl. Stir well to combine and set aside.
- How to cut the cabbage:Use a cutting board to cut the cabbage. Remove any outer leaves if needed, rinse the head of cabbage, and pat dry.
- Using a chef-style knife, place the head of the cabbage on its side and slice the stem off to make it flush with the bottom of the head of the cabbage. Turn the cabbage so the bottom is sitting on the cutting board.
- Begin slicing the cabbage from one side into ¾” slices. This will give you large pieces that will hold together, making the “steaks.”
- Brush or spray the baking sheet with olive oil.
- Place the cabbage steaks on the baking sheet and brush the top of each slice of cabbage with the oil mixture.
- Place in oven and bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until a fork can be easily inserted into the middle of each cabbage steak.
- It can be served immediately or at room temperature.
