Did you know that onions are the official vegetable of the state of Texas? Neither did we!
Today I want to share a recipe with you all for Texas Roots: Slow Roasted Onions. Usually, I use onions to add flavor into my recipes (garlic, onions and tomatoes are my go-to base). But today, onions are the star.
You can serve these as a side dish, or throw them on a burger. The marinade for this recipe is very simple and easy and it creates such a wonderful flavor.
The other thing I love about this recipe is that you can make it a full day ahead of time…. Meaning that you have more time to actually cook your meal.
Check out the video below to see me make these step-by-step.
Tip: If you are serving these onions on their own, I suggest adding some fresh herbs like basil and thyme.
Even if you aren’t a fan of onions, you are still going to want to try this recipe!
