Because who doesn't love a good margarita?!
It’s no secret that a good margarita is the cocktail of choice for the team here at WOT — And while we love a classic margarita, we are always game to switch it up every once in a while and try something new.
This week in the WOT Test Kitchen we came up with two extremely delicious recipes (trust us, we tested them…twice): Lite Coconut Margarita and a fresh Watermelon Margarita.
Each recipe incorporates fresh fruit and flavors without being too sweet or overpowering. So if you are looking to try something a little different from the classic recipe we all love, we suggest you give these a try.
Lite Coconut Margarita
Ingredients
- 4 oz lite coconut milk (we used canned organic)
- 3 oz tequila (blanco works well)
- 1 oz triplesec
- 8 oz coconut water (we used coconut water with pulp)
- mint and lime slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a large shaker filled with ice, combine the coconut milk, tequila, triple sec, and coconut water.
- Shake in a shaker for about 30 seconds or until well combined.
- Pour into salt rimmed glasses filled with ice.
- Garnish with mint and lime slices or wedges.
- Serve immediately.
- If you are going to rim your glass with salt, use a sliced lime wedge to go around the rim of the glass and then tap the upside-down glass into the coarse salt. This can be done ahead of time.
Watermelon Margarita
Equipment
- Blender
Ingredients
- 4 oz tequila (blanco works well)
- 4 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tbsp agave
- 1.5 cups cubed watermelon (seedless or seeds removed)
- mint and lime slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender combine tequila, lime juice, agave, and watermelon.
- Blend on medium for about 30 seconds.
Cheers!
