6 Ways To Naturally Help Your Body Detox

Discover the story
Naturally support your body's detoxification with these simple tips!

For most of us, our bodies, our bodies are consistently bombarded with environmental pollutants, processed foods, and stress… aka, toxins. Even when making mindful choices, it’s virtually impossible to eliminate all toxins — But especially as we are in the holiday season and everyone is celebrating more (aka, we usually increase the amount of sugar and alcohol we consume), you may feel the need to detox your body more.

In between feeling festive and celebrating, we like to be as mindful as possible about our health and make some healthy additions to our day to help detoxify.

Keep scrolling for the 6 ways that we naturally help to detox our bodies:

Drink Water with lemon — One of the easiest ways to kickstart your body’s detoxification is by staying hydrated and drinking water infused with lemon adds an extra boost. Lemon is rich in vitamin C, an antioxidant that supports the liver’s detoxification processes. Also, make sure to drink plenty of water!

Chorella — Chlorella is a freshwater alga that is known for its detoxifying properties. It helps bind to heavy metals and toxins, helping remove them from your body.

Cilantro — Cilantro contains compounds that bind to heavy metals and facilitate their removal from the body. Adding it to your diet, on things like salads and soups, is easy and can contribute to the natural detoxification of your system.

Lymphatic Drainage + Dry brushing — The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in eliminating toxins and waste from the body. Lymphatic drainage massage and dry brushing are two techniques that can help stimulate lymphatic flow and promote detoxification. Learn more about Lymphatic Drainage and Dry Brushing HERE.

Stay physically active — Physical activity helps improve circulation, lymphatic flow, and the efficiency of various bodily functions, and sweating during exercise supports the elimination of toxins through the skin. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, such as brisk walking, several times a week to promote optimal detoxification.

Cut out sugar in between celebrating — We get it; it’s the holidays. And we are all for enjoying. But in between, we like to cut out any added sugars — Which can be hard! Here are 4 tips from Laura Schoenfeld, RD, and Gina Hassick, RD, on how to successfully wean yourself off sugar.

As always, we suggest you consult with a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet or exercise routine.

Hope this helps!
