A Classic (Little Dirty) Martini

Discover the story
Shaken and never stirred… We think everyone should have a recipe for a Classic (Little Dirty) Martini on hand.

One of the most sophisticated and timeless ways to enjoy a libation, the martini is universal.  When it comes to cocktails, there really isn’t anything as iconic as the martini either (James Bond will agree).

While the exact origin of the martini is a little unclear (with several different versions of how it came to be out there), we know one thing — People have been enjoying this cocktail since the late 1800’s.

Now, there are many ways to make a martini (extra dry, extra dirty, wet) but today we wanted to share a recipe for a classic (little dirty) martini.

Before you dive in, you will need a cocktail jigger, a martini shaker and most importantly: you will need to decide if you are going to make your martini with gin or vodka.

You will also want to have some good olive brine on hand and know what garnishes you like. We are partial to blue cheese stuffed olives, but you can  also go with regular cocktail olives, pimento stuffed olives, or a lemon rind twist. We also have purchased this martini cocktail kit with a little bit of everything (including cocktail picks!).

Another great Cocktail Mixing Glass Set we bought and love to serve up martinis in is this one which comes with 20 oz heavy mixing glass, double jigger, shinning polished strong strainer, super spoon and muddle.

Last but not least, you can also pre-chill your martini glass to ensure an extra cold cocktail.
