There are many options for how to customize your avocado toast… but we like to keep ours pretty simple and with a slight kick of heat from chili peppers and some umami flavor from sesame seeds.
Avocado Toast With A Kick
Ingredients
- 1 whole avocado, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- whole wheat, or whole grain bread, sliced and toasted can also use gluten free
- tuxedo sesame seeds, use white if that's what you have on hand
- black pepper
- red chili pepper, finely chopped or dried chili flakes
- olive oil
Instructions
- Cut the Avocado in half lengthwise, remove the pit, and remove the avocado in one piece with a large spoon. Repeat with the other half.
- Thinly slice the avocado and leave it on the cutting board. Next, squeeze the desired amount of lemon juice over the avocado slices.
- Place the sliced avocado on the lightly toasted bread slices
- Drizzle with the desired amount of olive oil. Sprinkle with the tuxedo sesame seeds, chile pepper, and black pepper.
- Replace fresh chile pepper with red pepper flakes.
