Our two-day #WOTatVRT event in Round Top, Texas, was truly one for the books! It’s such an honor and our biggest joy to connect with our community and create meaningful experiences and memories. We had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with our readers, smart and business-savvy influencers in the wellness, food, and design spaces, and talented people from diverse walks of life.
We were especially excited about this event, which was about an increasingly important and timely topic: Social Media Marketing and Content Creation. Our exceptional panelists, Ashley Rose of Sugar & Cloth, People’s Shay Spence, and Grace Helfrich of ColonyCreative, Camila, and Paige and Smoot Hull shared valuable knowledge on topics ranging from how to grow your Instagram to pitching your business to editors and how to create quality content. Thanks to the gorgeous accommodations of our event partner, The Vintage Round Top, we had the dream setting for a guaranteed good time!
The festivities kicked off on March 31, 2019, with an amazing press dinner where guests enjoyed unique drinks by our dear friend, the genius Liquid Chef Rob Floyd.
Dinner was a spectacular meal of salmon crudo, spring salad with beets and haricots verts, and fresh pasta by the truly talented Kristen Kish and her all-star team.
The space itself was lush and gorgeous thanks to florals by Valerie Wolf Davy Gray and decor by Loot Vintage … who managed to work their magic to convert our dinner space into a luxe lounge in under 30 minutes!
The icing on the cake for the night was a special acoustic performance by one of our favorites, te singer-songwriter Andy Grammer. He played his hits “Honey, I’m Good” and “Keep Your Head Up”, and at times, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
We are grateful to everyone who attended the evening, including: Fixer Upper craftsman Clint Harp and his wife Kelly, television host Rocsi Diaz, model Nicole Trunfio, and Queen Sugar actress Marycarmen Lopez. And a special shout-out to Rio Bites, who provided the best Brazilian comfort dessert, brigadeiros, handmade with only the cleanest ingredients. Everyone was raving about them!
Our sold-out workshop on April 1st started off with a bang! We were so excited to have panelists Ashley Rose of Sugar & Cloth, People’s Shay Spence, and Grace Helfrich of ColonyCreative alongside Camila, Paige and Smooth Hull of The Vintage Roundtop. As part of the day, Camila demonstrated how to make simple, budget-friendly appetizers for a party like Camila’s beet hummus and these easy tortellini pesto skewers. She also wowed guests by making the hit drink Butterfly Tea Lemonade, from Rob Floyd. Guests feasted on our Women of Today Watermelon Skewers and Pomegranate Arugula Salad and enjoyed a beautiful spread provided by Easy Tiger ATX.
Also, what a treat to have our event ticket giveaway winner, photographer Marsais, among us!
Don’t miss out on our budget-friendly appetizer ideas!
