Easy Homemade Granola

Make your own granola exactly the way you like it!

Today, we are sharing our Homemade Granola that is not only delicious but also easy to make and much healthier (and cheaper) than store-bought granola!

Granola is one of those things that we tend to grab at the store due to convenience, but in reality, making your own is easy to do and allows you to minimize or eliminate additives and preservatives commonly found in commercial granola products.

WOT we love about this recipe: You have complete control over the ingredients. Adjust sweetness, choose your favorite nuts, seeds, and dried fruits, and create a blend that suits your taste.

Homemade Granola

Ingredients

  • 5 cups rolled old fashioned oats
  • cup melted coconut oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup dried coconut
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (we prefer a mix of cashews, almonds or pecans)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F. Line or grease a baking sheet.
  • Combine all the wet ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add cinnamon and salt. 
  • Fold in the dry ingredients and stir till combined.
  • Spread the granola mixture out evenly onto a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 7 minutes. Remove from oven and stir. Put it back in the oven for 7-10 more minutes or until it reaches the desired crunchiness. It will harden more as it cools, so be careful not to burn. 
  • Remove from oven, stir, and let cool.
  • Store in an airtight container
