Making your own dressings from scratch is an easy way to enhance any salad and add a personal touch. Store-bought dressings are convenient, but making your own at home is easier than you think; plus, you have the added benefit of knowing exactly what goes into it! Creamy Sesame Dressing: We love this dressing because of its rich texture, distinctive flavor, and versatility. This dressing pairs well with a salad topped with chicken, tofu, or vegetables, like our Avocado Bibb Salad.

Creamy Sesame Dressing

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp white truffle oil
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp minced shallot
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together.

Sherry-Maple Dressing: The combination of sherry vinegar and maple syrup creates the perfect mix of sweet and tangy flavors, adding depth and complexity to your salads.This dressing pairs well with a salad topped with chicken or salmon, like our Arugula Salad with Hot Smoked Salmon.

Sherry-Maple Dressing

Ingredients

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup aged sherry vinegar
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp whole grain mustard
  • 1 tsp minced shallot
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together.

Balsamic Dressing: This is a classic and incredibly versatile! It complements various salads, from simple green salads to more complex combinations of fruits, nuts, and cheeses, like our Brussels Sprouts and Red Kale Salad.

Balsamic Dressing

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp minced shallot
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together.
